Greatest Commandments Lived Out

Another plug for Divine Nobodies by Jim Palmer.  Thought-provoking book.

I liked this simple quote:

“We and a few other families we had met along the way began testing the waters on what it might mean to orient our day-to-day lives around knowing God, one another, and the other people God had placed around us.”

Very simple… how would those three things play out day to day?  It’s really just a challenge to live out the two greatest commandments, to love God with all we have and to love our neighbor as ourselves, realizing everyone we meet is our neighbor.

On that note, I heard someone say recently that if we are to love our neighbor as ourselves, does that mean we give them as much as we keep for ourselves of all that we have (i.e. living on 50% of our resources)?

Thought-provoking.
